Annika Sörenstam loves golf and continues to give back to the game

When it comes to the sport of golf there are obviously people who love it. Some people love it way more than others.

However much you love golf, I promise you that you do not love it as much as one of the greatest players to ever play it. Annika Sörenstam is one of one in that sense.

Annika is indeed one of the greatest players to ever touch a golf club, but the spirit that drove her to succeed over and over and over again is about who she is as a person more than an athlete. I had the chance to speak with her recently, a conversation that can be heard right below.

Fans can see Annika tee it up soon enough at the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe in July. The tournament invites and involves players from all walks of fame – athletics, entertainment, etc. – and they are sort of in an unfair fight against Annika given who she is.

While the ACC serves as a fun way for fans to see these people contend and compete in the sport of golf it also offers an opportunity to learn about the foundations that people like Annika represent.

The Annika Foundation is looks to help and empower young women through golf and life at large. One of the people who just so happens to have made their way through it is 2025 U.S. Women’s Open Champion Maja Stark, Maja hails from Sweden like Annika and became the first European to win the U.S. Women’s Open since Annika did herself in 2006.

It should go without saying that Annika is proof of how golf can transcend life and sport in these ways. She has made it a point to continue to give the game that gave her so much and up next for in that capacity is the ACC.
