This information was presented by the health department in a meeting held on Sunday to review the preparations to tackle the resurgence in cases. The meeting reviewed the Covid situation from January 2025 to the present.

The health department stated that the current cases are of a very mild variant, similar to ‘Omicron BA.2-like,’ with no severe symptoms observed.

Chairing the meeting, collector incharge Gaurav Benal instructed all hospitals to remain vigilant and adhere to Covid-19 protocol.

Citizens are urged to use masks in crowded places, wash hands frequently, and contact the nearest health centre immediately if symptoms appear.
