Angeles City has climbed to the 488th spot in the 2025 Oxford Economics Global Cities Index, from its 502nd ranking in 2024.

The local government said the city is one of the nine Philippine cities included in the prestigious record, which evaluates 1,000 urban centers worldwide based on five key dimensions: Economics, Human Capital, Quality of Life, Environment, and Governance.

Angeles also secured the third highest spot among Philippine cities in the 2025 list, following Manila (206th) and Cebu (470th), and placing ahead of Bacolod, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Dagupan, and General Santos.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. attributed this achievement to the city government’s continuous pursuit of inclusive growth and efficient governance.

“This recognition proves that our programs are working — not just in attracting investments, but also in improving the lives of Angeleños,” Lazatin said.

In 2024, Angeles ranked 5th among Philippine cities and 502nd worldwide for its Environment and Economic growth, including nearly ₱3 billion in annual local revenue at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city government said Angeles City’s steady rise in global urban rankings reflects its “strong economic momentum, environmental sustainability efforts, and commitment to quality public service.”
