2025 Ryder Cup: US Captain Keegan Bradley near top of rankings

We have a couple of weeks to go until the Open Championship this season and when it finishes golf’s four majors will officially be in the books for 2025. Time has really flown by.

There will obviously still be a ton of important golf to play. The PGA Tour will have their FedExCup playoffs and those events are obviously incredibly important. As noted time is moving rather quickly and before we know it we will be in September and ready for action at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.

On Monday morning the latest Team Rankings were announced and the United States side features two of this season’s major champions, a LIV golfer and no big deal… their captain all within the top 10.

The Ryder Cup system sees six players automatically qualify (the darker names) and then allows the captain, who once again is Keegan Bradley, to make six selections himself. Bradley is currently playing like one of the best golfers in the world and if anyone else were captain he would be an easy lock to be a captain’s pick. Given that he is the captain things are certainly a bit unique in that sense, but he should absolutely play in the event according to some people (yours truly).

Former Open Champion Brian Harman is at the end of this graphic in 12th place, but ther eare notable names within striking distance of him who Captain Bradley could choose from as well. Andrew Novak is sitting at 13, Patrick Cantlay is right behind him and Sam Burns is at 15. Further down the line you have names like Daniel Berger, Tony Finau, Wyndham Clark, Akshay Bhatia and Jordan Spieth all within the top 25 on the United States side.

To date only Scottie Scheffler has qualified which means there is plenty of room for discussion between now and when Keegan makes his selections.

Whether or not he picks himself will be interesting to say the least.
